Organising your own mentorship can be a daunting task – that’s why we’ve have tried to make the process as easy as possible.

How does it work?

The mentor matching is open 4 times a year for two weeks. During that period you can apply using the form below. BWC will match your business skills to a suitable mentor and make the introduction.

The first two sessions are free to Business Women Connections members. When the sessions have finished, the mentor and mentee can discuss if the partnership will be mutually beneficial and progress from there.

What are the intake dates?

All BWC members can apply for the Mentoring Match programme within the first two weeks of the following months - February, April, June, October.

How do I find a mentor or mentee on the BWC platform?

First, subscribe to BWC Aberdeen then head to connect on the app. From there, we’ll guide you through the process step-by-step and the dates when you can apply for a mentor.

We have a great group of mentors ready to help you in your local area. They can share information about their own career path as well as provide guidance, motivation, emotional support and role modelling. Our mentors will help with everything from exploring careers and setting goals to developing contacts and identifying resources.

Mentee Testimonial

“I have now completed my 2 mentor match sessions with Deborah McCombie. My meetings with Deborah completely exceeded my expectations! It was a perfect match for me for the stage I am at with my business. Deborah began with a sort of health check of my business in terms of where it is now, what is working well and what needs work, including lots of advice and encouragement for how I market my business. Deborah doesn't mess about, she gets straight to the areas that need work! I highly recommend Deborah for other mentees going forwards - I have come away with so much more new knowledge and skills and the important thing for me - more confidence to know how to market myself and my business, and how to plan this more strategically.

Deborah's generosity of her time and knowledge cannot be underestimated!”

Our Mentoring Programme is open to all BWC Members

“I believe mentoring is one of the key strategies that can help to close the gender gap in leadership, not just in Scotland but around the world. Mentoring is a vital lever we can activate to advance more women in work, help them gain access to capital and economic opportunities they might otherwise miss and be better prepared for opportunities when they come.

One of the responsibilities of being a woman committed to working towards a more just world is being willing to be a mentor when and where needed. We need the support of each other (both mentors and mentees) at all levels. That’s what we’re here to offer.

We have a great group of mentors ready to help you. They can share information about their own career path as well as provide guidance, motivation, emotional support and role modelling. Our BWC mentors will help with everything from exploring careers and setting goals to developing contacts and identifying resources.”
